Jury comments: This project focuses on repurposing abandoned infrastructure, which seems to be emerging as a new trend in urban development. The High Line in New York City comes to mind. The jury, however, was not convinced that the bridge should be opened to vehicular traffic, and noticed that the bridge may prevent boats from passing from one side of the channel to the other. The jury liked the amphitheater but felt the overall project could have benefited from more programmatic exploration.
