Jury comments: This chapel is located on the corner of the campus and will be a beacon as people arrive to the college from the northeast. As approached from the campus, one enters a glazed lobby flanked by the small chapel and supporting program elements on the opposite side of the entry. The main chapel’s façade is composed of tall vertical brick fins while the small chapel and supporting program element are composed of an articulated wall of brick and glass. The jury felt the formal language of the project was coherent and carefully controlled. It has a human scale and represents a successful modern interpretation of sacred space.
