Jury comments: Exquisitely restrained, this prototype for a community of five houses feels “of its time” yet timeless. A rainwater-collection system, recycled materials, and tinged fiber-cement panels make it “green,” as does the spectacular negotiation between interior spaces and the forest right outside. This is extremely high-quality work from plan to craft.
