Jury comments:
This beautifully detailed residence is masculine without being brawny. It is rich with fine, sophisticated, and delicate elements. The palette is white and black, softened by elegant and surprising pops of color that are used so masterful they seem to convey meaning. Particularly pleasing is the sparing yet spectacular appearance of navy. Plays on textures and shape are very compelling. Natural materials that could seem predictable or cold–leather, stone, even marble–feel fresh and delicate, juxtaposed with warm wood tones. The simplicity of the stairs and bench in the entryway is wonderful. There is a most agreeable balance between the living room windows that overlook the Esplanade and the photographs they frame. And the bicycle in the bedroom is a delight.
