Jury comments: This rehabilitated historic mill is now live/work space meant to be affordable for artists. The integration of existing brick exterior walls with new walls made of corrugated metal and zinc is done well and draws comparisons between the old and new in a complementary, noncondescending way. The development of the ground plan, which provides common space, a modern fountain, and connection to the adjacent community, is very good. We were underwhelmed by the signage and the interiors. We found images of the furnishings distracting.
