Jury comments: The Envoy Hotel has a number of compelling elements: its rooftop, its overall architecture (interior and exterior), and many of the interior design choices. For a single building, the Envoy tells many stories; at times, the jury felt perhaps it had too many perspectives. Still, the moves are well-executed, and make the case for creativity and risk-taking in hospitality design.
