Jury comments: Cited for Interiors There’s a lot to like about the landmark 1848 building and its sublime urban location, but it is the restoration of the original mahogany staircase and the modern addition that really makes it work. This is a tailor made response to the existing context. The integration of the modern and traditional is seamless. The dark and light of the material palette play very well together. Especially notable is the elaborate roof deck overlooking Boston Common.
