Jury comments: The New Science Center works hard while appearing effortless. It is not architecture with sustainability principles applied; it is the architecture of sustainability. The building is well-sited on an academic campus with smart massing and materiality. On the interior, its transparent lab rooms are as comfortable and flexible as its informal meeting spaces. The whole of the New Science Center is beautifully detailed and designed.
