Project name: Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion
Project location: Boston
Firm name: Utile, Inc.
Jury comments: The Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion is a landmark ambassador to the Boston Harbor Islands. At a slight remove from the harbor, the pavilion translates water from destination to inspiration through its iconic roofs funneling rainwater toward a pool. The Pavilion’s structure is evident and delicate, the formwork is remarkable and innovative, the cast-in-place concrete canopies are sculptural and compelling. As an open-air, accessible educational space, the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion is a community asset. This is an outstanding addition to the Greenway, and one we will continue to cherish.
