Jury comments: This building sets an extremely ambitious design agenda, though a lot of design energy seems to be focused on non-essential items, resulting in a rather unfocused and overwrought quality. We wished for more grit and less finesse. There are perhaps too many beautiful elements, though each is impeccably crafted. Perhaps more restraint may have allowed these gorgeous individual moves to come together in a more cohesive and compelling manner. One juror noted, “Too much dessert.”
