Jury comments: Masterplans provide a welcome grounding and framework toward understanding the project’s phases. While its Beaux-Arts approach could seem static, the classical solutions are highly appropriate, and the background context to the university along with the illustrative plans result in a transformative way of thinking about the important parts of the campus. The plan grapples with parking in a real way, though the entry to parking is a central axis, which could seem like making your garage your front door. Overall, this submission wrestles with the nuts and bolts, addresses them squarely, and emerges with clear, clever ideas. It is fantastic to create a space for so many different, important— and clearly identified uses.
