The residential component is completely dedicated to affordable units for seniors, containing 114 studio and one-bedroom apartments. 32 of the units have been reserved for individuals who were previously precariously housed.

Jury comments: This project sensitively and creatively provides affordable homes for elderly individuals in the Bronx. The massing carefully considers the site context and successfully constructs outdoor common terraces and a green roof through setbacks on upper levels. The quality of materials and emphasis on accessibility support the Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA) programming on the ground level. JASA develops social programming for residents and provides legal, health, and mental health services. The design prioritizes sustainable efforts through Enterprise Green Communities, and the process involved community engagement and user consideration.
