Jury comments: This project is part of a series of interventions elevating an urban center facing stubborn social and economic challenges. With simple lighting—a vibrant field of color-changing, fullspectrum lighting that contributes to pedestrian safety along the undersides of existing public infrastructure—an unfriendly neighborhood is made much friendlier.
