Jury comments: The building fills a very small, structurally challenging triangular site in a dense urban medical area. Colorful glass is used playfully at the ground level and makes a very positive contribution to the street edge, though the glass corner raises questions and is ultimately unsatisfying. Patient rooms are nice and spacious. This work was done on a relatively small budget, which may explain why interior finishes and furnishings seem outdated. Overall, this project indicates that it is possible to execute good design without spending an exorbitant amount of money.
