Jury Overview
The jury not only considered baseline responsibilities for accessible design, but also shared a commitment to inclusive design. Additionally, we integrated the AIA Framework for Design Excellence in our considerations. Three principles from the Framework proved to be a valuable lens: Design for Integration, Design for Equitable Communities, and Design for Well-Being. In every case, we evaluated candidates by asking if any potential group of users is left out. We had a priority on seamless integration of features that supported connection and inclusion. Lastly but importantly, we sought to honor projects that delivered an element of delight.
